How Do I Join the Army?

Follow the steps, Soldier.

1. Form a team of 3 to 5 people. Come up with an awesome team name (emphasis on the “awesome”) and then choose a team leader or “Lieutenant”.
2. Register your team by providing each soldier’s social media contact info, and your team’s hashtag (eg. #teampenguins) with one of the four “Generals” via e-mail.
3. Once your team has been accepted and confirmed by a General via e-mail, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
4. Battle begins March 19, 2012. But you can still join! Deadline for registration is March 30, 2012.

What’s the Battle Strategy?

Now that you’ve got your army, it’s time to start the fight and start collecting. Your challenge will be to collect the most cans for your team. Aside from relating your cause to future donors, you can incite them to help your team out by fulfilling a crazy task if you reach your collection goal! (for eg., shaving your head, jumping into the AQ pond, wear your underpants outside of your pants, etc!).

1. Acquire your cans and update the progress of your team’s collection on the Facebook Wall. Your Generals will be keeping track of each team’s reported progress.
2. Help promote the Hunger Army by tweeting pictures of your cans and your stunt, along with other Army related activities along with hashtag #SIFEHungerArmy
3. Challenge other teams via Twitter…or notes tied to rocks thrown into their windows (should you choose to go for the last option, be sure to Tweet about it, okay?)
4. Keep checking the blog for updates and recognitions.

Deadline for can collection and battle is April 6, 2012.
